How to improve performance of Baan query in a customized session

We have a session which has multiple table involved, but there is only one main table for the form display, when the search started, it seems restart run the query behind , and it takes very long time (2 min to 5 min) to relocate to the item searched. Is it normal?

Please help, I am a newbie.
