Objectives
The objectives of this book are to describe the purpose of the Freight
Management package, what you can accomplish using this package, and how
to set up and use this package.
Intended audience
This book is intended for those who want to learn how to use Freight
Management and to set up this package in the way that best serves their
purposes. Both end users and users on administrator level will find the information
they require. The latter will find setup information in the closing chapters of this
book that deal with master data and parameter settings.
Assumed knowledge
Familiarity with the business processes involved in planning, executing, and/or
subcontracting the transportation of inbound and outbound goods, and general
knowledge of the ERP LN functionality will help you understand this book. In
addition, Freight Management training courses are available to give you a
headstart.
Document summary
This user guide discusses the Freight Management package. The first
part, Introduction, describes the purpose of this package, outlines the main
functional areas, and briefly goes into the business environment in which Freight
Management is used.
The following parts each describe one of the main functional areas, which roughly
correspond with the modules of Freight Management.
The closing part deals with master data set up and parameters. This user guide
is provided with a glossary list and an index, which you can find at the end of
